Texture format tags don't seem to work for embedded textures

Import a glb with embedded texture, use ctrl+d in Unity to duplicate the texture2D and set the tags on it to ‘UASTC’ the nalso get a copy of that original texture as jpeg then use the Needle Texture importer to set to UASTC and compare the two

I just checked that - the asset labels work the same for embedded textures. I think there’s something else wrong in your case
