Needle Engine Platform Module for 2022

Just updated a project to 2022.2.1f1 and found I can’t click on the Needle Engine Build Target in Build Settings where I used to click it to install the Platform Module - I can select other uninstalled modules but not Needle, this is using Exporter 2.55.0-pre

Do you get an error?

Nothing in console, just clicking Needle Engine does nothing

Is there anywhere else I can install it? Project Settings > Needle would be a good spot to have it

What do you mean to install the platform module from there?

If Needle isn’t installed as a Platform module, I can’t even see Needle to override import compression settings alongside other platforms in 2022.2.1f1 unless that is a separate issue

But you have the exporter package installed it seems - have you tried just pressing Play once?

Reproduces for me too in 2022.2

Will take a look :slightly_smiling_face:

You can still access all the functionality from the menu item btw

Loc server and export + build all work of course but I can’t set per texture compression options on imported textures for Needle

Right, that’s a problem

Luckily it reproduces, just wanted to test out the new 2022 Tech Stream version, thanks Marcel!

No problem, thanks for letting us know

Do those importer per texture properties persist in the metadata between engine upgrades too? I wanted to test with upgrading a project between unity versions

They are stored with the textures yes (same format as the other platform texture settings in Unity)

Great news, that is peace of mind!

Found the cause of this - will add a fix for it after the holidays I think :slightly_smiling_face:

Absolutely no rush! You have earnt a holidays break for sure with your speedy fixes, thanks for your hard work on Needle and I truly believe it is the future of Web/AR/VR :raised_hands:
