Hi

Iām recently experiencing a repeated issue whereby the licence status isnāt being sustainably recognised. Quite frequently the status of the licence will be acknowledged as being valid, then a few minutes later (usually when I attempt to preview a scene locally via āPlay/Open Serverā) the valid licence status will be āforgottenā and I find Iām unable to run the preview (thereās just a grey screen).
When I go to re-enter the licence info the relevant status check doesnāt seem to happen. It just shows that itās āwaitingā (see pic) but that process often doesnāt get anywhere, and when it does it often takes a long, long time.
Iām not working on anything deadline-driven at the moment, so itās genuinely not a deal-breaker at this end⦠but I thought Iād flag it up now, so that hopefully at some point a fix can be made or a workaround suggested

Hi, thanks for the report. That sounds odd, i havent seen this before - we will look into it.
Yep⦠Mac OS Ventura 13.6.
Canāt update to Sonoma. Apparently my 2018 i7 is too old already. Apple, eh

I get a similar bug where every once and awhile when I save a scene Iām told my ātrial has expiredā. Simply opening the Needle Settings and letting it refresh will make it go away. Sounds like it might be related.

Hi, thanks again for the report. Iām looking into that right now and might have found the cause of the problem
Doh. Spoke too soon⦠sadly, the problem still exists for me here.

The problem re-manifested itself as soon as I saved and tried preview the project after Iād been working on it for a few minutes first thing this morning.
The latest update did fix the problem initially, but sometime during the night (while I wasnāt working on the project) the valid licence status became unrecognised/forgotten again⦠and, once again, the āwaiting for licence checkā¦ā process doesnāt seem to get anywhere.
If I run āInstallā, that seems to clear the problem and everything runs fine⦠until the next time I go to save/preview the project, whereupon the problem exists again.
Obviously āinstallingā each time I need to preview any changes Iāve made isnāt ideal as itās a fairly lengthy process to have to undertake .

Thanks for the detailed description @frannie
When you re-export your project (Clicking Play) it doesnt fix the issue?
Hi @Marcel_Wiessler1
Nope, sadly it doesnāt. Iāve just double-checked and no joy just doing that.
As said, running āInstallā fixes things every single time
⦠but itās just a bit of an over-the-top workaround

Itās probably also worth me mentioning, that occasionally if āwaiting for licence checkā¦ā is left running for long enough it does sometimes activate things as expected.
It happened here just now. The valid status confirmation suddenly appeared, after the check had been running for circa 40 minutes or so.

Hello @frannie
could you try again with the latest version. Iāve also added some buttons to the license check UI to be able to explicitly perform a refresh.
Hi @Marcel_Wiessler1
⦠huge apologies for the delay in getting the following feedback to you. I spotted and installed the latest release earlier today but Discord has only just now displayed your request
at this end.
Anyway⦠onwards to business⦠
Okay, so, first of all, for some reason the install of the latest update took a couple of goās before it was properly affected (I havenāt experienced that before - the updates have always installed just fine). The update panel indicated that the install had been performed, but the export info said it hadnāt (see 00.jpg).
After trying a few things I eventually decided to quit out of Unity and restart⦠whereupon everything seemed to be working perfectly. The update was recognised and so was the licence status
(see 01.jpg).
Just one thing⦠I couldnāt see any obvious UI for refreshing the licence check if needed, but maybe Iām not looking in the right place?
Either way, itās all running fine here now. Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeers!
