So the way it works is basically that components (such as the thing that is called “Play” here) have properties and those properties can be assigned in Unity in the Inspector (the window that shows the list of components)
Components usually access their properties and do something with them; e.g. the Play component here takes the assigned PlayableDirector and tells it to play

HUGE HUGE thanks!!!

You’re superstars, both of you!!!

:slightly_smiling_face: yay! Glad you got it to work
And thanks for all your feedback, we definitely have some better documenting to do for people that are relatively new to these areas

I really cannot thank you both enough!

This is such a rewarding experience, I kid you not.

Your time, dedication (and extraordinary patience!) is profoundly appreciated. Seriously!

It may be worth noting that most people coming to Needle will be doing so from an infinitely greater depth of experience with Unity than I possess (I would hope and assume), so I wouldn’t say that my level of of ability in this arena is typical. I’d like to think most folk would slip very easily into using Needle.

In fact, in many respects, so have I… although it probably doesn’t seem like it sometimes  Genuinely though, Needle has made Unity a usable proposition for me. Nothing has previously succeeded in achieving that! :slightly_smiling_face: :+1:

That is awesome to hear, thanks for sharing!
In reality we do have quite a varied audience, as some people come from a Unity background and want better workflows towards the web, while others come from a web background and dip their feet into Needle’s exporters for better asset management / ease of use, and yet others get started in both areas :slightly_smiling_face:
