Unity 6 compatibility with needle engine

I’m planning to move to unity 6 LTS with needle engine. is it compatible or 2022 is still recommended to use ?

Hi Saad, thanks for your question. Currently, Needle Engine officially supports Unity 2021.3 LTS and Unity 2022.3 LTS, which many users find stable for their web projects. Meanwhile, certain dependencies (like the UnityGLTF plugin) already mention compatibility with “Unity 6+” in their docs, indicating that Unity 6 LTS should work at a technical level.

That said, while early tests show Unity 6 LTS to be compatible, the most robust and widely adopted version remains Unity 2022.3 LTS. If your project is mission-critical, it might be a good idea to either test your specific setup with Unity 6 LTS in a small prototype or continue using Unity 2022.3 LTS for maximum stability.

If you decide to move to Unity 6 LTS, ensure that you update your Needle Engine packages to the latest version so any recent compatibility fixes are included. If you encounter specific issues, you can always reach out to the Needle team or report them via the in-editor bug reporting tools.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any additional info while testing your project.

Hi, Unity 6 LTS versions are supported, yes

Even Unity 6.2?

Unity 6.2 is not LTS officially but afaik it should work. We do have projects where it’s been used.
