I checked the docs and forum, but none of the provided references mention the script shortcut removal you’re describing. It’s not clear if this was intentional or a side effect.
Try clicking Needle Engine → Generate C# Components in Unity (that sometimes refreshes inspector mappings), then restart Unity. If the shortcut still doesn’t appear, it might be an editor layout issue — check if the “Open Script” button is simply hidden by a collapsed foldout.
If neither helps, share your Unity editor layout and which version of the Needle package you’re using (you said 5.1.12). You can also report a bug via Needle Engine → Report a Bug so the team can confirm whether this is a regression.
Thanks. I’ve created an issue internally but unfortunately Unity 2022 has been out of LTS for a while now, so I can’t promise a fix right now since this isn’t a critical issue. If possible please update to Unity 6.
Hey,
as soon as you have the Needle Export Info component in the scene and a created web project (required for the .ts files to locate), it should be visible.
Interesting: Got blocked by the missing material-x export UI which normally sits on the material I think?
So I tried and imported the same project in 6000.3.18f1 and still no luck.
But then (back on 2022.3) I reset the editor layout and now the buttons show up again, hooray!
But they only ever show on the “first” inspector window. I guess in my borked layout there was another hidden/lost inspector which was assigned “first”.
I had similar issues in the past with multiple (or “lost”) inspectors, unrelated to needle.
