any ETA for lit support?

by user 263967078346653697

because im a big fan of Unitychan anime toon shader

by user 263967078346653697

and its lit afaik

by user 263967078346653697

Maybe @herbst🌵 can say more about it.

What we eventually want to do is export the shaders in a format that is standardizes to work across editors and engines that support the format (and which would allow to edit it in a graph tool on the web as well)

ye herbst said its not supported now

by user 263967078346653697

so just was wondering for an ETA maybe i could wait it out and not create my own shader xd

by user 263967078346653697

ye its always the dream

by user 263967078346653697

There’s work towards that but also early as far as I’m aware so we didnt put in the effort yet to try to make it work :slightly_smiling_face:

ok thanks ill think of something

by user 263967078346653697

For now I recommend you make an Unlit shader for toon rendering. I didn’t get to look into the Unity Toon Shader yet if we can get it to work in unlit (agree that would be cool)

Down the road we want to avoid the “shader translation” mess (because it isn’t very cross-platform compatible) and instead use MaterialX graphs (or similar), but there’s still a few comments missing in the ecosystem
